What do astronauts pack when they go into space?

There’s not a lot of extra room in space shuttles or on the ISS, so ’nauts have to pack carefully. They save space by wearing clothes for several days. (They change into pyjamas for sleeping though!) ’Nauts bring personal items such as toothbrushes, razors, and photos of their family, of course. They might even bring musical instruments and a favourite book or game. Sometimes they bring gifts (even pizza!) for other ’nauts on the ISS. When Canadian astronaut Julie Payette went to the ISS, she packed lots of different pins and flags for sharing. She also found room for a big, red clown nose! Having fun is as important in space as it is on Earth.
