What are some of the strangest building materials?

You name it; it seems like someone has built a structure from it. Buildings have been constructed from glass bottles, bales of hay, beer cans, old tires, cardboard, and more. One of the world’s oldest bottle houses was made from 50 000 beer bottles in 1907. Although many of these structures were built more for fun than function, building walls out of straw bales is becoming more and more popular. The thick walls are perfect for keeping the heat out in summer and the heat in during the winter.

Native people around the world have always used the resources around them to build their homes. Depending on where they lived, buildings were (and in some places, still are) made from ice, mud, clay, straw, stones, and the bones or skin from large animals, including whales and buffalo.
