#18 - Peculiar Plants
November/December 2008
A lily pad so large a child can use it as a boat. A plant that eats flies for dinner. A vine that grows so quickly it devours buildings. Yikes! Our world is filled with thousands of plants and some of them are downright bizarre. We're taking a closer look at peculiar plants in this issue of KNOW. We've also packed in articles that help explain how ice is smoothed between the periods of hockey games, how your ears work, and we visit with the largest fish in the sea. As usual, you'll find lots of hands-on fun in our KNOW Fun and KNOW How departments. Don't forget to look for the knowms' pets: Lop Lop, Tahi, Lemondrop, Maestro, and Sharky.
