It's summer time and what could be better than spending some time on the beach? In this issue of KNOW, we're getting some sand beneath our nails and looking at the science on the shore. While we're there we'll do some "serious" science of course, like experimenting with the best sand and water mix for building great sandcastles. (Some scientists really studied this!) Just in time for Canada Day and the Fourth of July we'll give you the star-studded science behind sparklers. What is the secret behind all that flash?
