#5 - Light and Colour
Sept/Oct 2006
In this issue of KNOW, we’re going to colour your world! Issue 5 is all about light and colour. Inside, we’ll shed some light on shadows, paints, rainbows, and more. We’ll tell you how we use dots of colour to make the pages of KNOW so pretty and how the first paints were made. (Who knew crushed bugs could be so useful?) You can also read about glow worms and glow sticks, northern lights and white light, and... how people are making power from poop. (Okay, maybe that last bit isn’t really about light, but it’s really cool!)
As usual, you’ll find science news, puzzles, the Great Moments in Science comic, activities, and — our favourite thing — art, poems, and letters from our readers. So, grab your copy of KNOW, find a good reading light (a flashlight under your covers will do), and get ready to see the light!
